On Tuesday 29 January 2019, QLS representatives attended the Transport and Public Works Committee public hearing on the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2018.

Among our advocacy focus points, QLS concentrated on the need for a general right to legal representation in the Tribunal; the need to adequately resource QCAT in its expanding jurisdiction; and the need to better protect consumers in minor motor vehicle disputes, when only one party is insured and the party at fault is unclear.
