Golfer’s Live Longer — Five Years Longer!

Surprisingly, you don’t see that many people in the golf industry mentioning this on their websites or in their ads but, on average, Golfers Live Five Years Longer, according to a recent Swedish study. To me, that is something everyone should be shouting about from the highest tee!

The study was undertaken by the Karolinska Institute and published in the Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports and was based on data from 300,000 golfers and clearly demonstrates golf’s beneficial health effects. Golfers have a lower death rate regardless of sex, age or social group.

We all know golf is addictive but it can also be a great help in kicking other addictions you don’t want. Several years ago, actor Dennis Quaid revealed that without his golf obsession he never would have been able to quit cocaine. Likewise rocker Alice Cooper, who used to drink a quart of whiskey and half-a-case of beer a day, found his salvation by cultivating a 36-hole-a-day golf habit instead.

Better call the pro and take some lessons because….
