50 Must-See Places Before You Die
“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” — ANTHONY BOURDAIN
I have visited a few more than 70 countries and there are plenty more like New Zealand, Egypt and Tahiti still to do. By that point I will easily be able to expand the list to 100 but for now, here is my personal list of the 50 best places I have ever been in no particular order, that I think you would enjoy too.
1. Pompeii — The most amazing place I have ever been — history flash frozen at 79 AD.
2. Venice — Just magnificent; go off-season (it’s too crowded in the summer).
3. Rome — Amazing history in a compact space.
4. Cinque Terre — One of the world’s best hikes between five picturesque, coastal Italian towns.
5. Positano — So beautiful Sofia Loren lived there!
