Are you ready to be Legendary?

Introducing the Legendary Women First Annual Youtube Contest

We’re hosting our first ever Youtube contest! The contest is open for entries from now until July 1, 2016. Basically, we want you to make a 60–120 second “commercial” for a legendary woman in your life. Do you have a mom, sister, daughter, boss, friend, religious leader, neighbor…etc. who inspires you every day? Then you can make a video now that tells us exactly why she’s legendary.

After July 1st, our staff will be narrowing down the top videos to five finalists that will be announced in August. Finally, our panel of five film and vidding professionals (soon to be announced) will be the final judges for the best Youtube video. The winner will be announced on September 15th and will win one hundred dollars (American), a long profile on our Medium page and site and have their video hosted on our site. Second and third place will also receive shorter interviews and video hosting.

There’s a full list of rules here, so please check them out and read through extensively so that you are sure your Youtube video is eligible. Finally, there is an entry fee of two dollars (American) to be submitted via Paypal to our address at fundraising@legendarywomen.org. When you email us with the link to your video on Youtube, just also mention your Paypal name so we can match the names. The prize money will be covered by the entrance fees so that’s very helpful for all of us to have that as an orderly process.

So, do you have a legendary woman in your life? Someone who “ has helped influence both you and the world around you for the better?” Then we want to hear about her!
