Ready to Share a Shelf? Legible Bookshelves are Here!

Today, we’re excited to share a new feature: Legible Bookshelves! You can now curate your very own personalized ebook collections and share links to your curated bookshelves with the world!

According to Pew Research Center, 64% of people aged 16 and over get book recommendations from family members, friends, or co-workers. Legible Bookshelves are perfect if you love to share reading recommendations, are in a book club, or simply like to create reading lists to organize your to-be-read pile.

A bookshelf of great books is like a candy store for the mind. With so many choices out there, personal recommendations are an ideal way to make decisions on what to read next and get new food for thought.

Legible Bookshelves are also great for providing deep dives into key topics — for instance, you can create a reading list for tutorials or courses on literature, politics, or poetry.

And of course, authors can use this feature to promote their own books on Legible or curate booklists to share their favourite reads with fans.

Log in to your Legible account to try it out! You can start creating bookshelves two ways: 1) with any book already added to “My Library” or 2) from any list on the Legible storefront. Simply click on the “…” three dots below a cover image to find the “Add to bookshelf” option.

Select either “Add to new bookshelf” to create a new list, or, add the book to an existing bookshelf you’ve already created. If creating a new list, fill in the “bookshelf details” pop-out form to name and write a description for your bookshelf.

To edit or rename an existing bookshelf, navigate to “My Library”, click “My Bookshelves” and select the bookshelf you want to edit. Edit the form to change bookshelf details. From within a bookshelf, you can also change the visibility settings at the top right hand corner of your list. By default your list will be private. Change it to “public” if you wish to share the link to your bookshelf with other readers.

Legible Bookshelves are a great way to connect with others, share insights, tastes, information, and a way to discover new books you might not have otherwise found.
