The Legible List: New & Noteworthy Books, 1/18/22
by Marci Rae Johnson
I can tell that Valentine’s Day is approaching because so many of the books that have released today are romance books! Even though I’m not celebrating Valentine’s Day myself (and I may be harboring some negative feelings toward any celebrations of romantic love these days), I still enjoy a good, lighthearted romp in the genre. First up is Love & Other Disasters by Anita Kelly. In this book, “the first openly nonbinary contestant on America’s favorite cooking show falls for their clumsy competitor.” Combining romance with cooking. Yes please! Get your copy on Legible, here.
Aaanndd how about combining romance with books? Yes again! In Must Love Books by Shauna Robinson, Nora Hughes works as an editorial assistant at Parsons Press because, as a passionate book lover, she longs to make books for a living. But after five years there, it’s proven to be far from her dream job. After a salary cut, Nora decides she’s had enough and she begins to moonlight for a rival publisher. As one might expect, all sorts of problems arise, but could she find love in the midst of it all? Find out here!
In Lucky Leap Day, by Ann Marie Walker, screenwriter Cara Kennedy visits Dublin to see the sights and take her mind off her ex. But things don’t go exactly how she had planned. Instead, she wakes up one morning suddenly and unexpectedly married, and she has to take her new husband back with her to LA while she tries to undo what she’s done. Orrr maybe she doesn’t want to undo it after all? Get the book here and get ready for some laughs!
