A great day with Sophie Labelle
Last Saturday we had the pleasure of hosting the Canadian trans author Sophie Labelle at the Leicester LGBT Centre.
In the afternoon the young people of the YTCE and other youth groups of the Centre had the chance to meet Sophie, hear a bit about her story and even work together to draw a comic (above) with Sophie. It was a very productive session! Sophie also explained how ‘doing workshops like this one today is a healing process for me as a trans person’.
After a well deserved break, the member of the board Anna Chivers introduced Sophie Labelle to the wider public in a conversation event where Sophie delivered a talk and Q&A. We were very happy to hear that people came from across the country to visit us.
