My Favourite ‘Abnormal’ Food Combos

So, everyone has that thing that they eat with something else. And then you tell others about it, thinking maybe there’s just a slight chance it could just be you/ and your family who has it. Then the reaction they give is quite unsatisfactory. Then you try to convince them not to judge a book by its cover, and that although it may not sound tasty to them, it is tastier than it sounds. And so, I have a few I’mma share below. Lemme know what you think about them below, just from the sound of it, then once you’ve given it a chance.

Pizza &…

Well, this section is really pizza with Ketchup, BBQ Sauce, whatever. I say this because well up until last year, I went around thinking pizza and ketchup was perfectly normal. But, someone gave that a rather negative reaction, and so, apart from the Domino’s Dip, I’m not entirely sure what you’re ‘meant’ to dip pizza in. I mean, I’ve had it with salad dressing, mayo, garlic mayo, BBQ Sauce, Ketchup, as I said before, and it all tastes great with it.

Ketchup + Mayo

Now, I know this isn’t a completely alien/new thing. As I understand, Heinz are even selling a mixture of these 2 condiments, like as a proper thing, however I’ve also heard that it’s not as good as just doing it yourself. For those who aren’t familiar with this innovation, for me it came about unintentionally. I mean, I did put the ketchup and mayo pools side-by-side, too closely evidently, and dipping & swirling the chips in as you do, whilst each ‘pond’ spread, as they do, and they ended up mixing eventually. Now, for someone like me who is a 💯 foodie and loves trying new things — original + common — it was a no-brainer tot try this new, accidental combination. And I sit here gladly having done so many times.

Spaghetti + Ketchup & Soy Sauce

Ok well I don’t mean like squeezing Ketchup over spaghetti just like that, but when I happen to be cooking something along the lines of stir fry, like just spaghetti with veg, stuff like that, then I add ketchup to like flavour it instead of salt, for example. Obviously, I don’t use it when I make dishes such as Spaghetti Carbonara. And too much Ketchup would be unsavoury, as with anything used for flavouring, but when done right, it is delicious — and not just on my word.

Crisps in Sandwiches & On Bread

This isn’t exactly sparkling new either, but everyone must indeed try it. Seriously. Doesn’t matter which flavour crisps. Though for me, I’d avoid Cheese & Onion — honestly people complain about mint choc chip ice cream (the best and my fav btw) when these…abominations allowed to be called crisps still exists?! And don’t even get me started on Cheese & Onion Rolls. Seriously, just get vegetarian sausage rolls!! Anything but those C&O Rolls.

So, these are some of my Nhyira-food-combos for now. I may very well do a part 2. But for now, try these and lemme know what you think in the comments + your own inventions.
