OLX Group, which brings together a global product and a technology group, works with over 20 brands and 5,000 people worldwide. With the mindset of “we empower people to upgrade their lives”, the group’s products and services enable the exchange of goods/services in a simple and convenient way for those who buy and sell.
This new way of online selling benefits local communities and others, and the goal of the organization is to contribute to a world without waste.
Each month, 350 million people use platforms such as: Avito, Letgo, Dubizzle or OLX to sell goods, real estate, cars and services. Soon, the OLX group is expected to have 1 billion users.
The technology hub that supports digital platforms, comprising of about 300 people, is located at Atrium Saldanha in Lisbon.
Distributed over two separate floors, the teams are organized into work areas, with long islands illuminated by the building’s glass facade.
Every detail of the office is thought to detail, from the pantry to the meeting rooms, it is impossible not to be impressed by the care invested in each space.
When visiting the office, we can easily see that there are two main themes: travels and the heritage of Portuguese crafts. Along the corridors we see colored tiled panels, in the meeting rooms walls were coated with burel fabric used to help absorb the noise from the conversations and, and cork was used in some decorative details.
It is undoubtedly a creative and modern approach to the materials that are part of Portuguese culture.
Each meeting room takes us on a trip to a city where the group is present. Without leaving the office, we can go to Bombay, Prague, Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro, Amsterdam and of course, Lisbon.
With vinyl prints and decorative pieces, each room is no longer an anonymous space and becomes a scenario that involves us and fills our heads with new ideas!
To facilitate a use by turns, some rooms may be booked in advance in the online calendar. At the entrance of each room there is a tablet where the schedule can be consulted.
There are rooms for different occasions: meetings with larger groups, meetings for 2 or 3, quick chats or videoconferencing.
Collaborators may choose between more traditional rooms, with tables and chairs, or more relaxed with spaces armchairs and puffs.
Spaces to relax
We all know that there are times when a few minutes break can work wonders! A conscientious organization knows that there are days when employees need to stop: either because they are tired, because they had a long night to finish a project or just because they want to stop for a few minutes.
Spaces to relax are increasingly common in contemporary offices. In the case of OLX Group, were created several areas where you can relax: in the library, in the areas with hammocks and the lounge with sun loungers. In this last space it is possible to regulate the intensity of light and there is a sound system, each one can connect and choose their relaxing soundtrack.
To accommodate 300 people, several eating areas were created. In addition to the main pantry, where everyone meets for lunch, there are small pantries that are used for the morning and afternoon breaks.
This solution allows for a better flow during lunchtime and avoids long queues. When not in use for eating, pantries function as informal meeting spaces.
Next to the pantry there is a multi-functional space where can happen events, trainings or meetings between collaborators.
For those who can’t resist the adrenaline of sports and video games, there is no lack of activities at their disposal. Between the ring box, the tennis table, the table footbal or the playstation, all it takes is courage to challenge colleagues for a match!

Sounds of the office
“The natural light of this office is very pleasant, we feel that we are in a large and comfortable space.
The space layout of the teams also works very well, we have designers with developers and project managers which makes our work much easier.”
“The mission of OLX Group is to create opportunities for all, and that couldn’t be more evident in this office. We have all the necessary conditions for our day to day life, from a quiet and noise-free workspace to meeting rooms that allow us to chat in a relaxed way and find solutions to the challenges ahead. My favorite zone is a small room with a view to the República Avenue.”
“This office was designed to welcome us the best way possible. The attention to detail isn’t something found in many organizations. This space reflects the image and the intention of the brand, to be better and better, and this is clear not only for us who work here but also for the customers who come visit us. The office values our work!”
