Meta did it again. Llama 2 is out there, but it’s not the only new sequel, Claude returned with a vengeance.

  • Llama 2 is here. It’s open source and commercially usable. Zuckerberg is aiming to win all the AI nerds’ hearts
  • Meta will not rest. Now, there’s a new state-of-the-art generative model for text and images. The paper shows lots of impressive results. We will have to wait till it’s out here for us.
  • Claude gave us 100k token context windows, but the results weren’t that impressive. Claude 2 might solve that. If you have access to Claude, you can already try its new brother.
  • Google is still running behind, but the search giant wants to be in the fight and has added some new features to Bard.
  • Stability AI always has the neat stuff. Stable Doodle is a tool that transforms a simple drawing into a full image.
  • 6 months ago Elon wanted to stop AI research. Now he announced x.AI to “understand the true nature of the universe”.
  • There was a lot of chatter about ChatGPT getting dumber. Now there is a paper with some research on this topic. They concluded that the behavior of this model changed a lot over a few months.
  • That AI was good at generating content we were already aware of. But this group takes it to the next level, generating a full episode of South Park
  • Actors and writers are on strike . Studios proposed that background performers should be able to be scanned, get one day’s pay, and companies should own that scan, their image, their likeness and should be able to use it for the rest of eternity on any project they want
