Are you too lazy to record yourself? Just give Google a pic and your voice, and they’ll create a lifelike avatar that moves and speaks just like you. Google released VlOGGER, a Multimodal Diffusion for Embodied Avatar Synthesis. It’s still in the early stages but could be used for video calls or even video game characters!

Sometimes, explaining how to play a game is easier than actually playing it. Google DeepMind published a research paper on a new AI agent called SIMA that can learn to play various video games by following instructions in natural language.

Apple keeps adding AI startups to its holdings. It bought a Canadian AI startup called DarwinAI. This startup uses cameras to check parts during manufacturing to make things run smoother. Apple could use this tech to improve its new phone features later this year.

Grok is finally on the open! The weights of the base model were just released. It won’t be long until somebody makes it run on your computer. Check the release announcement or the GitHub repo.
