Monday of the Second Week of Lent: Decay

There has been a conflict for me these last few years about the coming of spring. This time of year is also filled with reminders of decline and death. Yet, there are ways in which death and the emergence of new life are a part of each other. One needs the rich soil, the compost, the decaying of once-living material to become the place in which the new-living seeds can grow.
