KQJ is real. We have proof!
Here is a nine-minute gameplay video, edited from 30 minutes of raw gameplay. It’s riveting stuff! It’s from the actual game before we began refactoring from Cocos to React Native. The gameplay is currently silent. We admit we are guilty of adding a little music.
What is happening with KQJ?
There is a story behind KQJ, and we thought it might help explain some of the challenges that we have faced and why it turned out to be not so simple to launch the game in March as we had originally anticipated. It’s easy to say, “It’s not our fault!” But, in this case, it isn’t our fault!
We had a workable, playable demo of KQJ in December. Yes, four months ago!
Our partner, Alice Live, built the original game and the demo from which this video was taken. They continue to be the prime developers in partnership with Lepricon.
The demo ran on RioChain, which meant that we could do fast transactions for no gas fees and that players could jump in and out of the game, which selects a card every 30 seconds.
Then two things happened at the same time. For the first three months of this year, we focused on fund-raising, and with this success, we bought forward our TGE to 17th March, St. Patrick’s Day. Most of our time was focused on this activity.
At the same time, RioDeFi, our partner, began the transition of RioChain from testnet to mainnet.
This broke KQJ.
At this point, we had to decide the best way to proceed, and that decision was to forget the beta and begin the refactoring to React Native on a mainnet version. It will still be a beta version (which it is now), but we have run into an array of niggling issues, and these have taken more time to fix than we expected.
There are always challenges with getting any game to market, and it is a running joke in the games industry about anything launching on time. At the same time, the move by RioDeFi to move to mainnet while the game was in production was a delay we could never have expected at the beginning of the year, and one that forced a change in direction.
So, KQJ is coming. When it is launched, you will be the first to know. In the meantime, please enjoy the gameplay video and feel free to ask any questions about it in our telegram chat.
