Good News Bad News on ISIS

Hillary Clinton actually thinks they are a threat to the U.S.

Hillary Clinton and the Democrats have attacked Trump relentlessly about his concern that the U.S. wasn’t vetting Islamic refugees from Syria — when he proposed a “pause” they were up in arms. The reality is that we’ve had LOTS of pauses in similar situations in the past — Iran during the Carter administration — Iraq during Clinton’s tenure at the State Department — we want to help refugees, but only if we can protect the homeland. When Hillary attacked Trump for saying what we were all worried about I was worried she didn’t understand the threat we’re facing from Islamic extremism. The good news is that Julian Assange released an email on Friday that should make us all feel a lot better.

In a 2013 speech in which she was paid $400,000 to give she explained that the administration was worried about jihadists mixing with legitimate refugees because the U.S. “can’t possibly vet all those refugees.” She went on to explain, “So they don’t know if, you know, jihadists are coming in along with legitimate refugees. Turkey for the same reason.

So the good news is that Hillary understand the threat. The bad news is that she is publicly suggesting (in response to Trump’s position) that the U.S. should increase the number of Syrian refugees by 55,000 each year — despite the fact that James Comey, FBI Director, told Congress that our vetting process is inadequate. Our hope should be that she’s lying about her interest in bringing more refugees in before our vetting process is fixed — and that she’s telling the truth about the threat of Islamic extremists.
