In the wake of the bombing in New York City the city’s mayor explained that the explosion was an intentional act, but it wasn’t an act of “terrorism”. Many people have wondered why Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio wouldn’t call the bombing attack an act of terrorism.

What most Americans don’t know is that “terrorism” is actually a registered trademark owned by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Unless ISIS takes credit for the bombing Mayor de Blasio would be opening up the city to potential litigation for trademark infringement from the Caliphate.
