Is Truth True or Are We Making It All Up?

There are a lot of things that seem true to me.

The seasons change, stars live in the sky and the sun sets every evening.

It also feels true to me that people should treat each other with respect, that the color of our skin doesn’t matter, and that I can make a difference in the world, even if it is a small one.

And yet, I can see that some of my truths don’t live as truth in others. That they (others) also have beliefs that feel true to them that do not feel true to me.

So, what really is true? And what really matters?

I ask myself, when I have a question about the world, where does my truth live? And I find my answers in a feeling. A solid feeling, a “that feels right” feeling, and then I know.

But that is not truth.

That is my truth.

And sometimes my truth is that it is time to empty the dishwasher and sometimes my truth is to stand up for someone who can’t stand up for themselves and sometimes my truth is to plant a garden on empty soil.

I follow that feeling all the time. Letting it guide me and trusting that when I do, my path will be the one intended by the universe, or wisdom, or G-d (or whatever you want to call it).
