A few days ago, I received a call from an organization specializing in therapeutic trauma support. Learning about the organization was inspiring. From my perspective, the more resources available, the better.

Then, the conversation had a curious shift. It was my turn to share my professional expertise. Here’s how I began, “I am in a unique position of being a poly-survivor and a practitioner.” I then gave examples of how this combination infuses into my practice. From my purview, healing is primarily about reconnecting to the setpoint of well-being rather than examining deficits.

“There isn’t a need for inventory, and besides, most memories are out of reach,” was another point made. For many people, recalling trauma is, in itself, a triggering experience. With this in mind, it is a counter-intuitive direction. Indeed, the primary purpose of therapy is to align with health. Therefore, it makes sense that well-being is central.

The conversation continued. I was asked about the Three Principles and requested to explain them. “The Three Principles are mind, consciousness, and thought. These are essential functions that make experience possible. That’s it, and once a person realizes this, they can demote the sad stuff and promote the happy moments naturally, without professional interventions.”

Soon, I began sharing the transformative story of Sydney Banks. He was at a breaking point in his marriage when he realized that his thinking created the experience of unhappiness. After that, Syd’s life changed completely. A profound awakening can happen to anyone. And it does. I then mentioned, “Even a person imprisoned can find freedom.”

Thought Gems in the Rough

A state of well-being is nearest with insightful thinking. The moment a person feels low, it is a signal to let go of the emerging mindset. Finding evergreen health arrives with understanding. By realizing thinking is a universal function, it defuses every illusion painlessly. Health-centered counseling is locating and then engaging in well-being. It is that simple.

After studying decades of complex psychological theories, I have had my fill. Complexities make mental health appear unreachable. On the contrary, health is within everyone already! If health were complicated, then only a few people would have access to it. For this reason, I share the Three Principles. It makes mental health accessible for everyone, and no one is left behind to suffer.

As the conversation came to its close, I wondered if I made any sense. Describing the ethereal nature of mind, consciousness, and thought isn’t about the words. It is the feeling and intention within them. Hearing a genuine reply, I was grateful to be understood.

After decades of sharing the principles, I have heard a variety of responses. From “Is this a cult?” to “Where can I learn more!” In either case, the principles are saving lives. That is the reason for sharing them, to promote sustainable mental health.

When I hear that someone is suffering needlessly, I know the workday ends with unfinished business. Conditions like diabesity, gender objectification, and anxiety are a few. But, with insightful understanding, these are more than manageable. They are curable!

The pace of life happens uniquely for each person. However, once a person realizes the essential functions that produce experience, it reveals an ethereal oneness that is undeniable. I consider this an aspect of our interconnectivity.

Think-Free Zone

Is it possible to inventory every thought or memory stowed away in the conscious mind? Thoughts are like 5-dimensional jigsaw puzzles. They interconnect with an intricacy beyond any invention known to humankind. Even neuron activity is a mere resemblance to the formless phenomenon. Hence, we are more than thinking machines. There is an innate intelligence embedded in each of us. It is the mother-lode of wisdom. At some moment, the conscious eye uncovers it. For each of us, it happens at a moment of readiness.

Sydney Banks: The Spiritual Equalizer

Syd Banks had stated, “No human being is more spiritual than you! Everybody is equal. Do you know what equality is? We all derive from Mind, Consciousness, and Thought.” Mostly, it seems life is about fulfilling obligations and pursuing dreams. Yes, it is, and more. It is an expedition of self-discovery. A realization that we are no less than the stars in the universe itself.

Sydney Banks began pioneering the Three Principles in the mid-seventies. Along with him, a small community of psychologists and an internationally known sociologist. Together, they embarked on a journey to share a message of hope. Decades later, the message is clear and pure. There are three universal principles, and they are the same for every being everywhere in the universe.
