The KGB or Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti (roughly translates to Committee for State Security) was the security agency of the Soviet Union from 13 March 1954 till 3 December 1991. They were the Soviet version of America’s CIA, carrying out several espionage missions.

Thanks to Hollywood’s innumerable spy thrillers, we don’t need a lengthy introduction about the life of a CIA or KGB agent. Of Course, the movies offer a slightly far-fetched version of their risk-ridden existence, but those cinematic depictions are closer than we imagine.
