Ancient Greece is a period in Greek history that lasted approximately a thousand years. To this day, ancient Greece is known as one of the most influential societies in the history of the world. The ancient Greeks were a well-educated group of people who enjoyed a culturally rich life. The country was divided into hundreds of city-states, with two of the most powerful ones being Athens and Sparta. These two regions, along with a few others, played a significant role in the rise of the great Greek civilization by contributing to the introduction of philosophy, various forms of art and literature, and political awareness.
