People often fall victim to get-rich schemes, but sometimes lady luck has her eyes set on you. Life rewards people in the most unexpected ways, whether it’s a random stroll through a flea market or a one-in-a-million chance encounter with a metal detector.

These stories of incredible fortune and riches have made us take another look at our attics and basements. But we don’t recommend digging up your house. Not everyone has treasure buried in their backyard, but a few do.

1- Apple Prototype In A Dusty Drawer

In 1976, Apple (AAPL) co-founder Steve Wozniak hand-wired an Apple-1 prototype, an early Apple milestone from a modest garage project to a world-changing company. The prototype, often called “Apple Computer A,” was crucial in securing Apple’s first significant order from The Byte Shop, one of the earliest personal computer retailers.

Without this device, the trajectory of modern technology would have been very different.

The prototype faded into obscurity after its critical role in Apple’s early success. Steve Jobs gifted it to a friend, probably as a thank you.
