We know that the ancient world was a pretty odd place. It was full of bloody wars, cruel rulers, and strange social practices. It was the time when people were trying to figure out how the world and everything around them worked. They were doing different experiments, trials, and making errors too. However, some of those errors turned out to be deadly.

In this article, I have listed down some of the most bizarre, weird, and unusual deaths in ancient Rome, Greece, and other parts of the classical world. Some of these deaths were punishments, some were accidents, and some were simply a result of bad luck. Give them a read, and let me know what you think.

Born in Eleusis, Greece, Aeschylus is also known as the Father of Tragedy. He was one of history’s greatest playwrights. Historians tell us that in 458 BCE, Aeschylus died when an eagle dropped a tortoise on him because he mistook his bald head for a rock. LOL!
