America’s Oligarchy Threatens the World

America’s ruling oligarchy has become a threat to the entire world. Frighteningly, few Americans or foreigners grasp the threat the US oligarchy poses to our survival.

The American oligarchy endangers the world because it underwrites a regime (the Trump Administration) that promotes fossil fuels and suppresses Climate Science. For example, a US Department of Energy (DOE) X account tweeted; “She’s an icon. She’s a legend. And she is the moment.” With a picture of a piece of coal. On 31 July 2025. This sick tweet uses words from a Wendy Williams song to create a pro coal meme.

Worse, the Trump Administration’s assault on Climate Science is pure nihilism. For example, “85 top climate scientists” label a DOE report on climate crisis risk “a mockery of science” and a farce.” Indeed, The Guardian describes the report as written by “five hand-picked fringe researchers.”

“This report makes a mockery of science,” complains Andrew Dessler, a climate scientist at Texas A&M University. “It relies on ideas that were rejected long ago, supported by misrepresentations of the body of scientific knowledge, omissions of important facts, arm waving, anecdotes and confirmation bias. This report makes it clear DOE has no interest in engaging with the scientific community.”
