Here is reality check for the activist group Queers for Palestine

There is not much of a comparison here.

David Andrew states:

Homosexuality and religious extremism tend to not be the best of friends. I’m sure there are exceptions, but none that I’m aware of.

And yes, there are some groups in Israel who aren’t the biggest fans of gay people, maybe even aggressively so. But those people are not in charge. And the areas they live are not places most gay people would want to live anyway.

Everywhere else? It’s gay heaven! Tel Aviv is one of the most queer-friendly cities in the world. The county is jam-packed with opportunity and possibility. I have gay friends who traveled from France to Israel to attend the pride parade in Tel Aviv because it’s known far and wide as one of the best. I can’t imagine a greater endorsement than that!

So basically it’s a pleasure. The only institutional discrimination I’m aware of in Israel is that gay marriage is not yet legal, since the whole marriage industry is controlled by the ultra-religious. But I imagine even that…
