The Romans were an incredibly impressive civilization. Known by most to be the longest-lasting empire in history, the Romans contributed immensely to art, culture, and science over their nearly two-millennia-long stay. Their contributions were diverse and profound, with many laying the basis for Western thought for centuries.
Of course, this was not always a good thing, as even bad Roman ideas gained significant traction. Chief among their most extraordinary achievements are Roman architecture and infrastructure. For example, Roman roads lasted centuries, a feat unheard of in the ancient world.
Furthermore, the Romans were incredibly prescient in the design of their cities. Perhaps the most notable design feature of many such cities is the Roman Bath, a gigantic public facility for sanitation and relaxation.
