Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band became a legendary album for many reasons.

It was composed and recorded after The Beatles had taken a tour break and finally had some free time. This period was decisive for the band to come up with original concepts and to entirely dedicate themselves to their craft.

The album was released in June 1967, during the well-known Summer of Love, perfectly fitting the counterculture of the time. It revolves around the concept of a show given by a fictional Edwardian military band, lead by Sgt. Peppers. The theme is present not only in the music but also in the album’s art, which includes its iconic cover, an embellished inner packaging, and — for the first time in music history — a booklet with the songs’ lyrics.

The tracklist includes remarkable hits like With a Little Help From My Friends and A Day In The Life, as well as other songs with possible references to drugs; but the most intriguing track in the album is probably its third: Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.
