In 1772, an impoverished farming couple in rural France gave birth to the medical marvel only known as Tarrare.

While growing up to look mostly healthy, Tarrare had a massively stretched mouth filled with darkened teeth. He grew to just 100 pounds by 17, but historical accounts state that he was already able to eat his entire bodyweight’s worth of food daily.

After eating, his stomach would balloon to unimaginable proportions. After defecating, the skin around his belly would droop around his gut. Tarrare also had a distinct foul odour which records state as being:

“To such a degree that he could not be endured within the distance of twenty paces.”

Unfortunately for Tarrare, his parents could not support his voracious appetite. He was kicked out of the house and left to fend for himself on the streets.

A Crazy life with experimentation, espionage, and even murder were in store for the man cursed with unending hunger.
