In 1999, the archaeologist found three child mummies at the top of the 6,739 meters (22,109 feet) high volcano Llullaillaco in Argentina. The dry and cold climate kept the bodies of the unlucky children in a perfect state of preservation. The ancient Incas sacrificed them around 500 years ago.
