Is Capitalism the Bigger Enemy or Racism?

According to the Marxist ideology, there could be no bigger threat than capitalism to socialism and the overthrow of the capitalist society. America, by all means, thrives on its capitalistic power and hence the division of labor.

The Marxist agenda to create a classless society depends on a united war against the class system; in this revolution, there is little space for other ideologies which overshadow capitalism as the main enemy. Here comes the question…a black, working class, queer woman living in the United States of America does not only worry about high risk of unemployment, but also, being discriminated against because of her gender, sexuality and race.

Hence, the argument of Marxism that puts other identity markers backstage has garnered a lot of criticism from scholars and activists.

Divide, rule and make them work

In order to understand why the Marxist focus on class as opposed to race is being refuted, there needs to be a clear conception of what the Marxist justification is to believe in the superiority of class differences as primal differences dividing society.
