Responding to Robert Spencer: Did Muslims Massacre the People of Jerusalem?

Conversion to Islam was a slow process. Those who didn’t convert are the Christian Palestinians of today.

The question of forced conversion to Islam in history is a cornerstone of the centuries-old “spread-by-the-sword” narrative that has been (and continues to be) used to demonize Islam and Muslims.

Robert Spencer, in The Modern Aftermath of the Crusades, writes:

“In fact, the conquest of Jerusalem in 638 stood at the beginning of centuries of Muslim aggression, and Christians in the Holy Land faced an escalating spiral of persecution.”

Robert Spencer is a big supporter of Israel. He believes that the Palestinian people didn’t exist before 1964!

But here is my problem with Spencer:

If you believe that Jerusalem belongs to the Jews then you should be condemning all the empires that controlled or conquered Jerusalem.
