Fear of a Second American Civil War are growing. For example, popular culture is full of Second Civil War memes.

Notably, there was a Civil War movie in theaters earlier this year. I have seen ads for a Battleground Civil War massive multiplayer online game (MMOG) about a Second War Between the States. We also had Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War based on a long-running Civil War plotline in Marvel Comics. In Marvel’s version, superheroes Captain America and Iron Man represent current ideological conflicts in the United States.
