Donald J. Trump Senior’s (D-Florida) impressive presidential election victory is historic. Interestingly, Trump’s victory is far more historic than many people realize.

Trump, an unpopular, controversial, and divisive figure, won 295 Electoral College votes on 6 November 2024. Thus, Trump won by a significant margin in a deeply divided country. The Electoral College vote is just one of several historic aspects of Trump’s latest victory.

Some of the most historic aspects of the Trump Victory include:

1. Trump is one of just five men to win three major party presidential nominations

Just four men have won three or more major party presidential nominations in US history. They are Grover Cleveland (D-New York), 1884, 1888, and 1892, William Jennings Bryan (D-Nebraska) 1896, 1900, and 1908, Richard M. Nixon (R-California) 1960, 1968, and 1972, Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1932, 1936, 1940, and 1944, and Trump, 2016, 2020, and 2024.
