In early February 2010, Jennifer Lee Daugherty went to a sleepover at her friend Angela Marinucci’s apartment in Greensburg. She was tortured and killed by six of her friends, who are now known as the Greensburg 6, for around 36 hours. After she died, they wrapped her body in Christmas lights put her in a garbage can. The garbage can was then left in the parking lot of a school.

Who Were the Greensburg 6?

The Greensburg 6 consisted of Jennifer’s six friends whom she had recently befriended at a community center in Greensburg, ten miles away from her home. Being mentally disabled with the mental capacity of a 14-year-old, it was not easy for Jennifer Daugherty to make friends. So, when her family saw that she had friends she regularly visited in Greensburg, they were ecstatic.

Living in the same apartment, there was Angela Marinucci, who was the youngest at 17 years old, and Ricky Smyrnes, 23. Both of them were in a relationship with each other. Then there was the 20-year-old Amber Meidinger, pregnant with Melvin Knight’s baby, who was the same age as Meidinger…
