As its famous 70s jingle so jovially declared, the Big Mac is a concoction of “two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun!

To some, the burger is absolute garbage.

To others, it serves as proof of God.

And nobody is as certain of its divine nature as Don Gorske. This 67-year-old is famous for one miraculous feat: the consumption of 30,000 Big Macs. He reached this astounding record on May 4, 2018, making him the Guinness World Record holder for the person who has eaten the most servings of Big Macs ever.

Love at first bite

Gorske’s Big Mac obsession began in 1972 when he got his first car and drove to the McDonald’s in his hometown of Fond du Lac, WA, for lunch. He bought three Big Macs, and it was love at first bite — he returned twice that day to eat more Big Macs.

Gorske ate nine burgers on that first day. He has since then religiously devoted himself to its daily consumption for almost five decades.
