If you have ever seen a film about Mexico’s drug wars, you will receive an interfusion of glorified truth with exaggerated fiction- but no lies about the beheadings. Those are the factual, ongoing, and cruel methods of disposing of snitches and traitors.

The drug wars, ongoing for over 14 years, have resulted in many shows of such cruelty-the horrors of which served to warn away enemies and keep friends in check. In 2011, at the height of the drug mafia’s reign of terror, a video went viral on the internet: a nephew and his uncle getting decapitated — but they weren’t the only victims of such treatment.

Beware the Beheading

The video showed a harrowing scene — the victims, Felix Gamez Garcia and Barnabas Gamez Castro, sitting helplessly in front of a rundown wall, their torsos bare and hands tied behind their back.
