What Will Happen When King Charles III Dies?
Here are eight things that will happen after the King’s passing.
King Charles made his first public address as monarch on September 9 and said, in part,
“As the queen herself did with such steadfast devotion, I too now solemnly commit myself, throughout the remaining time God provides me, to maintain the Constitutional principles at the core of our nation.”
To paraphrase his mother, he intends to rule dutifully until his death.
After King Charles’s passing, the royal family will enter a period of sorrow, but Prince William and his family can expect to be kept quite busy. One immediate consequence is that William will be anointed King, which will call for numerous public ceremonies (much as we saw from King Charles following the death of his mother).
