Many wall paintings, pottery, and ceramic statues from the first century were excavated in Pompeii. One of them is a visual representation of Pero and her father Cimon.

In Romans, there's a mythological story behind the above painting which is also popularly called “Roman Charity.”

The above painting may give you negative vibes but it’s not what you see. It may appear to many but is not pornographic!! However, pornographic versions of the same painting were made by painters.

But, there’s also something beyond just the painting. There are true emotions with helplessness.

The truth behind the painting will definitely move you emotionally.

The Story

Cimon was caught stealing bread and was sentenced to death by starvation.

He was imprisoned in a reformatory by the Romans in Ghent, Belgium.

He wasn’t allowed to see anyone. Pero wanted to meet him but was always refused by the officials.

Pero kept pleading and requesting and finally, she was allowed to meet her father. Thus, she was
