100,000 years ago, in the context of life on Earth, seems like a short amount of time. After all, Earth has been supporting life for billions of years in the form of microbes and intelligent amphibians. However, life on Earth 100,000 years ago was drastically different from what we have today. With thousands of strange species inhabiting land alongside numerous other species of human beings in climates that are dramatically different than today, this was our Earth 100,000 years ago.

The Animal Species: The Columbian Mammoth

If you were living a hundred thousand years ago, you might have come across one of the largest mammoth species that ever existed: The Columbian Mammoth. It is said to have reached 4 meters in height and weighed over 10 tons. Its tusks were curved and extremely long as well. The longest known tusks of these mammoths were over 5 meters in length, which surprisingly makes the tusks even bigger than the Mammoth itself!
