It is a hot afternoon in the countryside. A group of some 40 soldiers moving with their regiment. They were the rear guard of the regiment. As they approached a junction they heard some strange noise. Within a fraction of a second, a group of 100 people barged towards them. The rebels attacked them mercilessly and disappeared into thin air. This was the start of Guerrilla warfare which stared in the 18th century and is very much shaping our world now.

The name Guerrilla warfare rings in our mind a covert operation. Happening in remote parts of jungles in South America, Africa or an Asian country. Contrary to all the beliefs the origin of Guerrilla war was rather western. It all started in SPAIN

With the rise of Napoleon to power in France. Europe submerged into a war that will cost the loss of millions of lives. Napoleon waged war against the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Prussia, and Russia. Napoleon conquered most of those countries.

Napoleon eyes now fell on the tiny island up the coast of France, “Great Britain”. Napoleon declared a naval blockade by forcing his alliance partners to stop trading with Britain. He also ordered his partners not to allow British ships to sail in their waters.

Britain, used its skillful navy to bypass the blockade. Britain smuggled goods in and out of Europe via weak points in Europe’s…
