Today we are happy to announce that we have started to accept financial contributions to the LessPass project via OpenCollective.

What is OpenCollective?

OpenCollective is a way to open our finances to our community

Here are the benefits of using OpenCollective:

  • Open involvement for anyone
  • Both individuals and companies can sponsor, fund, or back our product
  • Following the money is easy and transparent
  • You help decide the future of LessPass through your support
  • Anyone can collect funds by contributing to the LessPass ecosystem

Why asking for donations?

LessPass is not asking for donations. We just want to make donations possible. Some people sent me some email/tweet to find out how to make a donation.
It’s now possible to make donation via OpenCollective.

Why OpenCollective?

I wanted the spending to be transparent and used for actions that were important to the community. I think for example the iOS application that requires the purchase of a license and specific hardware. Neither Edouard nor I have this hardware, nor the need for an iOS application for example. Yet the community has been asking for an iOS application for a long time.

This is exactly what OpenCollective will allow. Spend resources in the right place, at the right time, in an open and transparent manner.

This is exactly the tool we were looking for.
And it is now possible.

No matter whether you are a user or a fan using LessPass, no matter which platform you choose, one thing is certain: your contributions will help us to revolutionize password managers.

Thank you
