War Habits

Though everyone has suffered pain
as combatants all ran amok
yet still it started up again

for habits cannot be retrained
with neural networks staying stuck
though everyone has suffered pain

a ceasefire slowly was obtained
a peaceful deal at last was struck
yet still it started up again

then suddenly just like the rain
the fighting stopped as though by luck
for everyone has suffered pain

and then the truth became quite plain
the profiteers said peace did ‘suck’
and so it started up again

for everywhere it’s just the same
the rulers have the people fucked
though everyone has suffered pain
yet still it’s starting up again.
