Look Out Above

Stay for a lightning strike,
a love’s dissonance
too bright to refuse.
To be in love, or
be spared; content instead,
free from its abuse.
Happiness is a stormcloud,
weighted with nourishment
for the lucky few.
We can watch it from our distance —
in orbit, yet in plain sight,
if you should so remotely choose.
