Get started with automation — in YOUR 🌎 world!
It’s not as hard as you think…
We read about it everyday. Automation is going to eliminate jobs. But what can WE do.
It starts with rethinking how we work and asking “is there a better way?” (Hint — there usually is).
Two recent LinkedIn shares by Tom Hood, CPA,CITP,CGMA and Mike Quindazzi triggered this tip.

Rather than see these posts and do nothing, what can I do (and create value for my organization)?
Mike shared a visual of the “new automation toolbox” — start at the lowest level and become educated.
For example:
✅ Data prep and analysis tools.
- Excel #PowerQuery, #PowerPivot and #pivottables
- #PowerBI editing queries and Modeling tools
- #Tableau Prep
- #alteryxanalytics
✅ Workflow automation services.
- IFTTT (“If This, Then That”)
- Zapier Inc.
- Microsoft Flow (“work less, do more”)
✅ Software macros.
Obvious, simple, area to get started!
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) macro automation opportunities are everywhere
- #googlesheets or #Googledocs user? Look into Scripting — it’s very powerful.
The point is it is simple to get started. It may be daunting, but the payoff is huge!
