Quick Access Toolbar / InvenioMakeItEasy Add-In

I’m lazy. It’s that simple.

If I can automate a repetitive Excel task — within reason — I do it.

In my daily use of Excel, I rarely use the Excel Ribbon menu (in fact, I hide it so I gain extra screen space). I leverage the keyboard shortcuts, the Quick Access Toolbar and different add-ins to eliminate steps.

I created an add-in (InvenioMakeItEasy.xlam) to automate a number of tasks I frequently encounter. Among them are:

  • Auto-fit all columns (one-click)
  • Printing — turn on gridlines
  • Printing — turn off gridlines
  • Printing-landscape orientation
  • Printing-Create basic footer
  • Printing — Basic footer with date
  • Printing — Clear print footer
  • Printing — Print current sheet to PDF (named as tab name + date/time stamp)
  • And more…
