Camping is a time in which you get to appreciate the outdoor life. You get to bond with family and friends better. The camping trip would not be fun without good camping food. The camping experience can be made more comfortable and hassle-free by preparing camping food.

There are a lot of camping foods that are easy to cook and tasty too. In fact, camping can be more fun if you try camping food that you never tried before while camping.

My family always cooks at least 5 of the below-mentioned foods every time we go camping and we highly recommend you do it too! Below mentioned are the 20 fun camping food that is easy to cook.

Easy to cook foods

Grilled chicken

Campfire is one of the best parts of camping. Campfires are used not only for cooking purposes but also for heating purposes. Unlike barbecue, grilling your food on a campfire tastes better because it retains more water in it. You can start grilling with larger pieces or big chunks and then gradually reduce it to smaller pieces as it gets cooked. You can start this with a bonfire and then move out to a cooking fire if you want to do so.

Eggs

Eggs are flexible. You can boil them, scramble them or fry them for breakfast while camping. They are also easy to carry because all you have to do is place them in a cooler with ice inside along with your other camping food items. Also, you can check out our site if you have backyard chickens and you are worried whether they would be safe to eat or not.

Deviled eggs

Camping food can be as simple as devil eggs. You can also adjust according to your taste by adding mayonnaise or butter or seasoning it with salt and pepper.

Bean burritos

You can eat bean burritos inside a foil wrap or cook them over the campfire. Make sure that you pack tortillas, cheddar cheese, ham, refried beans, tomato salsa, and salt with you before going camping. To prepare it, all you have to do is mix the ingredients in a pot and cook them over the fire.

Spaghetti noodles

Camping food doesn’t have to be unhealthy. You can boil water in a big pot with salt added to it. After that, you can add spaghetti noodles and let them remain in the boiled water until they are soft but not cooked. You can make this more fun by adding sauce to it.

Pasta

Pasta is one of the best camping food items because it’s easy to cook. It prepares quickly and easily over aluminum foil around the burning coals of a campfire, grill, or any other open flame source.

All you have to do is place the amount of starch that you want into a resealable plastic bag before going camping. You can then pour the contents of this bag over boiled water inside the aluminum foil, seal it tightly and cook for ten to fifteen minutes. Either bring a jar of sauce or make your own.

Potato eggs

You can easily make potato eggs using aluminum foil. Just wrap each egg in aluminum foil and place it onto the grill of your fire pit or camp stove, cooking for about ten minutes to get a slightly crisp outer shell and soft center.

Foil packets bacon

If you want all the great taste of bacon with no mess, then you can cook it in a foil packet. For each packet, put down some foil and place your food inside before sealing up the top tightly with aluminum foil. If you want to make sure that they do not burn, place them on the outermost part of the fire pit or campfire.

Bacon-wrapped hot dogs

You can make a classic camping food item by wrapping a hot dog in bacon and placing it over the fire pit. You can also try grilling it slowly to make sure that the insides are cooked properly because bacon takes longer to cook.

Pork chops are not only easy to cook, but they taste delicious as well.

Breakfast Burritos

If you are traveling with an electric stove, you can make breakfast burritos easily by placing eggs, hash browns, cheese, bell pepper, and salsa into the tortilla and then folding it up. You can cook this using a frying pan or electric stove.

Pita pizzas are a good camping food item because they can be prepared easily at a campsite, placed on a grill over the fire pit, campfire, or any outdoor grill for eating. You can make your own sauce before going camping or prepare the pizza in a pouch and add it to the grill afterward.

You might want to bring healthier alternatives such as raspberries and almonds instead of chocolate chips. In addition, tropical trail mix will liven up any campfire by offering fruits that are not normally found in the regular mix.

Macaroni salad
