The Georgia Department of Transportation’s 1–75 expansion has stirred up some controversy and has affected the lives of residents within the Pleasant Hill Neighborhood.

In early 2017, seventeen homes in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood were scheduled for demolition.

The I-16 and I-75 interchange construction started an ongoing debate that has been fought for through a mitigation plan, constructed by members of the community, to improve manner at which the construction was happening.

Peter and Naomi Givens, advocates of the mitigation plan, discuss the expansion and its impact on the community.

Watch the video below for more insight to their perspectives and the significance of the plan.
