MACON, Ga. — If Patricia Thompson was mayor of Macon for a day, she would focus on repairing the damaged downtown sidewalks to improve accessibility.

“If you are in a wheelchair, sometimes they don’t have the (ramp) where you can get off,” said Thompson, a Macon resident for the past 11 years.

“You just have to turn around and go back. It’s hard to get out into the street and go.”

Citizens can report needs for repairs or beautification through the platform SeeClickFix, which passes on any reports made to government officials for fixing.
