Why are there hundreds of animal cruelty cases in Macon, Georgia?
By Vanessa Alva, Matthew Causey & Abbey Reddig
From October 2015 to 2016, the Macon-Bibb County Animal Welfare Center handled 309 animal cruelty cases, according to the center’s director Sonja Adams.
We are hoping to answer the question about why animal cruelty is common in the area and how the community can help alleviate the problem.
This large amount of cases causes people to wonder what circumstances makes Macon a place where animal cruelty happens so often. After finding out the root of the problem, it could help our community reduce the problem.
The Animal Welfare Center treats these victims and volunteers are welcome to come play and walk with these animals. This helps them recover.
