For as long as I’ve known, I’ve always been most inspired by people. The idea that everyone is so uniquely different, with different upbringing, beliefs, stories, experiences and dreams.

I’m a curious person, so whenever I meet someone new, I like to ask a lot of questions and each time the more I learn about each person, the more fascinating they become to me. I genuinely believe that with everyone you meet, there’s something that you can share and learn from each other.

As the Community Manager for Zojul, I attend as many of the events as I can. I love the anticipation of just meeting someone new and seeing where the conversation goes and what I’ll learn.

Just recently I attended a dinner and the discussions during the evening gave us all a few laughs, but there was one unforgettable moment I took from that dinner. A small group of us got talking about our dreams and one lady (I won’t mention her name just incase) was talking about how a trip to Cambodia changed her life forever. She described her trip in beautiful detail about the people that she met, the experiences she had gained and the memories that it had created with so much emotion, passion and excitement that it completely had me in awe. After sharing her story she humbly told us that her dream was to return one day, and to help build a school. I was so touched by her story and this is just one of the great examples of why I am most inspired by people.

I know we all have alot going on in our lives but at times we need to remind ourselves that we are only here on this tiny planet for just a short amount of time. As much as we are here to climb up the career ladder, we are also here to share, to laugh, to love, to listen, to give, to connect, and to help each other. If we remember to live life this way from time to time with an open mind, an open heart and a little compassion towards everyone we meet, life can be pretty darn awesome.
