2021 California: The Hidden Underlying Problem
Why does the richest, most powerful state in the USA have so many 3rd world problems?
Why are so many Californians angry or checked out? Worried about their future? Trying to make an honest living but falling behind?
The small business owner, trying to make ends meet and keep up with Sacramento’s regulations. First, the business was shut down for a year. Now no one can find employees.
The working mom, struggling to keep up with expenses. She has had to move 1 hour away from work because the rent just went up again. Who will take care of the kids when she drives to the office?
The young adult, who just graduated college with a massive student loan that they can not pay off. The whole paycheck, and more, spent on living expenses. Should they move in with family to save rent? Is there a future?
The farmer in Central Valley, who just pulled out half of the almond trees because there is no water this year.
The executive of a big company, who can live anywhere. Why not in Florida or Washington or Texas? In California, taxes go up almost every year, with little to show for it. Add it to yearly fires, blackouts, crowds, being told that Ca is in a mess because of capitalists and people making money.
Big businesses eyeing other states that offer business-friendly environments, lower taxes, and a lower cost of living for their workers.
Why are so many Californians leaving the state?
Hello. My name is Vivek Mohan. I am a first-generation immigrant from India who was welcomed to this amazing land by wonderful, decent, and trusting people. I am running for Governor this September as a write-in candidate.
There are a lot of voices telling us the sky is falling, and that California is done. Don’t believe the naysayers. Our problems are fixable, but we do need to focus on them NOW.

Deep underground, the ground is shifting. The foundation is starting to crack but no one can see it. Experts 1 and 2 keep fighting about the problem. Fix the window. No, fix the roof. The home-owners try both the experts. But the home keeps falling apart even more. Welcome to today’s California. The house still stands tall. THE VISIBLE PROBLEMS or SYMPTOMS:
Rapidly increasing Homelessness • Wildfires • Blackouts • Water shortages • Broken roads • Unaffordable housing • Increased taxes • Small businesses weighed down under regulations Illegal immigration • Law and Order situation • Vaccine hesitancy • Increased frustration and anger in general population • Accusations of incompetence • Mistrust of the Establishment Other states offering better options for business and to live
THE UNDERLYING REAL PROBLEMS:
The visible symptoms hide a deeper foundation problem.
The cracked foundation or the underlying, unseen problem is the massive and growing INEQUALITY. It is the unintended result of our state’s brilliant but uneven success!
There has been massive wealth creation from High Growth Industries like Technology, Entertainment, and global markets for Agriculture.
The FEW are rich, and getting richer. They drive up the price of everything.
THE MAJORITY are struggling to keep up.
The very ground on which our home rests is shaking. Trends like globalization, automation, people and business friendly states, changing weather patterns,.. are widening the cracks further.
Why is no one working on the foundation?
Because Sacramento has diagnosed the situation incorrectly, and is mismanaging it. It is focused only the windows and roof. Naturally, it is falling behind. Unless we start working on the underlying problem in parallel, the foundation will collapse.
The very success of Democrats in Sacramento is the reason they have stopped listening . There is no strong opposition to warn the leaders that they are taking CA down the wrong path.
