Yesterday, September 11th 2017, we were in Rotkreuz, Switzerland for the CH-Open Workshop days!

We held our first Full Stack TypeScript training: 7 hours, 15 participants, frontend app with Angular, backend with NodeJS and a PostgreSQL database!

^ Our great participants ^

The programme for the day was quite intense! We went through a Full Stack JavaScript Roundtrip! The goal was to build the “Picbazaar” photo sales platform with a frontend, a backend and deployed them in the cloud.

In detail, this is what our participants succeeded to achieve at the end of the day:

  1. developing a Frontend application with Angular4, Bootstrap and a full fake REST API with json-server
  2. building a backend with NodeJS, ExpressJS, Sequelize, a PostgreSQL database and… TypeScript!
  3. connecting the backend to the frontend > so easy when you use the same backend port
  4. deploying the backend and the frontend in the cloud in less than 20 minutes!

It was for the first we did this training and it was amazing!

So we will redo the experience but… for one-full-week Letsboot camp in November! The material of this one-day roundtrip workshop will be the starting point to the new one week camp. But we will improve it with more features and guest speakers.

Roll on the next training!
